What is a chartered accountant?
Professional member of a country's Institute Of Chartered Accountants. He or she must work (and be trained) in the office of a practicing chartered accountant for three years, and pass exhaustive written tests to qualify. On completing the requirements, the trainee is awarded the designatory letters ACA.

As a chartered accountant you'll give advice, audit accounts and provide trustworthy information about financial records. This might involve financial reporting, taxation, auditing, forensic accounting, corporate finance, business recovery and insolvency, or accounting systems and processes.
What is the qualification needed for joining CA course?
Way of entering CA.
After 2nd puc/10+2
A candidate is eligible for enrolment to Accounting Technician Course (ATC) on passing the Common Proficiency Test and Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 examination) conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto.
A candidate who has already passed Entrance Examination or Foundation Examination or Professional Education (Examination-I) shall be eligible for enrolment to Accounting Technician Course subject to complying with relevant conditions.
A candidate who was already registered for erstwhile Intermediate/ Professional Education (Course-II)/ Intermediate (Professional Competence) Course shall be eligible for enrolment to Accounting Technician Course subject to complying with relevant conditions. Students who have registered for the Intermediate (IPC) course without the option of ATC can also opt Accounting Technician Course subsequently.
After graduation/ post graduation.
Students who are Graduates/ Post Graduates in Commerce having secured in aggregate a minimum of 55% of the total marks or other than those falling under Commerce stream having secured in aggregate a minimum of 60% of the total marks or its equivalent grade in the examination conducted by any recognized University (including Open University) and candidates who have passed the Intermediate level examination conducted by The Institute of Cost Accountants of India or by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India are exempted from qualifying Common Proficiency Test can also register for ATC

Chartered Accountancy is basically divided into three steps and each step has to be cleared by the candidate in order to become a CA. The steps to become a CA in India

CA Foundation Fee Structure
After the 12th
1.Cost of Foundation Prospectus
(Compulsory) rupees 200.
2.CA Foundation Registration Fees
(Compulsory) rupees 9000.
3.CA Foundation Subscription fees for Student’s Journal (Optional) rupees 200.
4.CA Foundation subscription fees for Member’s Journal (Optional) rupees 400.
Total =9800 rupees.
CA Intermediate Fee Structure
Candidates who are pursuing the CA course through the normal route means to say entered through CA Foundation have an option whether they can register for CA Intermediate single group or both the groups at a time at their option.
1.CA Intermediate Registration Fees rupees. 15000 . depends group single 11000.
2. Student’s Activity Fees for CA Intermediate rupees 2000.
3.CA Intermediate Registration Fees as an Article Assistant rupees 1000. Single group nil.
Both groups total 18000.
Single group total 13000.
CA final course fee.
A student after passing out both the groups of Intermediate / IPC can register for the CA Final Course. The total fee for CA Final is given below.
CA Final Registration Fees rupees 22000.
Articleship Training Fees
Beside the above courses, students also have to complete 3 years of Articleship training. Candidates can get themselves registered for articleship training on completion of either single or both groups of CA Intermediate.
The registration fee for the 3 years articleship training has been set by ICAI is Rupees 2000.
ICITSS Fees in India
Before the commencement of articleship training and after getting registration into the CA Intermediate course, one has to undergo ICITSS which consists of Information Technology and Orientation Program.

The fee for such courses are as follows –
Information Technology Program – rupees 6500.
Orientation Program – Rupees 7000.
AICITSS Fees in India
Candidates have to complete AICITSS in their last two years of Articleship training which consists of Advance Information Training program and Management and Communication Skills program.
The fee for such courses are as follows –
Advanced Information Technology Program – Rupees 7500.
Management and Communication Skills – Rupees 7000.
